ABOUT

Our Mission:

Global Benefit seeks to provide hope for those facing extreme poverty and distress through education, vocational training, micro-business financing, community health care, and affordable housing, and spiritual development.

MORE ON THE MISSION:

Our mission can be broken down into five main components: Education, Spiritual Development, Micro-Business Financing and Training, Affordable Housing, and Community Health Care.

education:

Sponsoring very poor children (Grades 1-12) to attend free schools with expenses they can't afford, and providing supplemental food and health care for the entire family.

We are partnering with RCEF, Rwanda Children Educational Foundation, with staff and an office in Kigali, Rwanda, the Capital city. Executive Director Jeanine Mukarubega survived the genocide against the Tutsis and resides in New Hampshire.

RCEF sponsors extremely poor children in Rwanda who can't afford the costs associated with education in Rwanda. All participating children are vetted to determine their poverty condition. RCEF also distributes supplemental food to these families who are in need.

An elementary child (Grades 1- 6) sponsorship is $325 annually. Grades 7-12 students are placed in boarding schools with annual sponsorship at $975.

At present we have 168 sponsored students.  Enabling boys and girls to attend Grades 1-12

Spiritual Development

The spiritual needs of families are addressed through Christian ministry. A Worship Center has been constructed in Bugesera District, and a leadership team of an Elder, a Pastor and Deacons conduct weekly services and discipleship training. Spiritual and character development activities are provided for all sponsored students.

Micro-Business Financing:

Providing funds for parents of sponsored students to start micro businesses and receive training in business and financial management provided by an indigenous bank.

In cooperation with Rotary Clubs in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire RCEF secured a Rotary International Global Grant. Following two cycles of loans totaling $53,000 Rotary oversight came to a close, and RCEF continues the loan distribution process. Micro-credit loans have been extended over 200 times to parents of sponsored children, and business education and financial training have been provided to all participants.

Community Health Care:

Low cost Government Health Care for each student is included in the sponsorship of a child, and a comprehensive medical clinic is being constructed in Bugesera District.

When a child is sponsored, health care coverage is provided. Supplemental food is distributed on a periodic basis. The completed medical clinic will expand our opportunity to provide a level of care to many in our service areas.

Safe and secure housing:

Building safe and secure housing for the families or sponsored students.

Housing has been constructed by RCEF in Bugesera District, for families of sponsored boys and girls to occupy at an affordable rental fee. Thirteen families can be accommodated at the present time.
